Eve 2:3

What began as an experiment soon turned into an obsession.  My days were spent waiting for nightfall.  All of my thoughts were centered on the moment Eve slipped into sleep.  I cared for little else.  I only cared for her and what I had discovered.

And what had I discovered?

That I was.

Before Eve I was but a witness of His creation.  I was present at its inception and had watched as its ocean grew and its volcanoes erupted to coat the surface with what lay beneath.  Creatures walked His world before my “eyes”.  I was but a flitting spark of divine consciousness set free to dream and to marvel at His cleverness. But if questioned by Him or by any other what I was I would not be able to answer.  I was an angel, yes.  One of His celestial creations.  A test perhaps.  Or a captive audience to witness His glory. But to witness His glory could mean that I was not a part of it. I was an outsider looking in.  There was no other being aware of my existence.  And if there was I went unacknowledged.  By Him and by His world.  I was an abandoned child.

No more.  In Eve’s dreams I had taken form.  In her dreams I became a man.  A brilliant man clothed in magnificent flesh.  I drew her consciousness around me and her thoughts became the materials with which I could build.  I was now a creator.  In Eve’s mind I created an oasis for us.  A garden much like the one she looked upon with waking eyes.  A garden that boasted the finest greenery and sparkling waters.  A garden populated by two.  This was my Eden.  True Eden.  And it rivaled His in every way.  There was no death or decay in my garden as was in His.  There was only Eve and I.

Was Eve aware?  Yes.  After the fifth night I was satisfied that what I had created was good.  On the sixth night I greeted her when her eyes had closed.  She looked upon me with startled eyes.  I was every Man I had ever set eyes upon.  The perfect specimen.

Beneath a large fruit-laden tree at the center of my garden I held out to her my hand and she accepted it.
